Too many empty SPF lookups
…Warning · Reason code: void_lookup_limit_exceeded
What it means
Section titled “What it means”While evaluating your SPF record, more than two DNS lookups returned no record. These are called
void lookups. The SPF standard allows at most two, so receiving servers may treat your SPF as a
permanent error and fail it. SPF also allows at most 10 lookups in total (include, a, mx,
ptr, exists, redirect).
- Remove
include:entries that point to names that no longer exist. - Remove
include:entries for services you no longer use. - Replace
ptr; it’s slow and discouraged. - If you still need many senders, ask each provider whether a narrower include exists.
